Frequently Asked Questions
You may apply for a Coryell Foundation grant by following the process outlined under the section Application Process. *What are your funding priorities? Our priorities are listed under the area of Guidelines. (TOP) * We have several needs. Would you help us choose one or may we include all of them in our request? We ask that you apply for funding for one project at a time. We suggest that you apply for the project that best fits our guidelines and is of highest priority for your agency. This will assist you in making a case for funding the project. (TOP) *May we apply for a grant or send a grant submittal request via fax? No. We ask that you send your request through the mail or email. A request must also be on agency letterhead and signed by the executive director or appropriate board representative. (TOP) *We have a full narrative proposal. May we submit it instead of your application form? The Coryell Family Foundation requires that organizations use the formal application form to ensure that all applicants provide all the information needed for a complete review. This facilitates the process of comparing similar projects. You must limit responses to the space provided. (TOP) *Must we submit an audited financial statement with our application? Audits for the most recently completed fiscal year are required of all organizations with operating income of $500,000 or more. Organizations with annual income under $500,000 must submit a review of their financial statements, completed by a CPA. Please do not submit an application without all of the required attachments, as it cannot be processed. (TOP) *What is the maximum grant amount that you fund? We have not established maximum dollar amounts, but rather look at the amount needed for each specific project based on the scope of the work. As similar requests are reviewed throughout the year, it is to your advantage to present a cost-effective budget. (TOP) There are no deadlines. The Coryell Family Foundation accepts and reviews Grant Submittal requests throughout the year. It generally takes two to six months to review an application from the day that it is received to notification of the Board's decision. Occasionally, final action will be deferred. Each applicant is notified promptly as soon as a decision has been made. (TOP) *Do you conduct site visits on all the applicants? Although we prefer to have personal engagement, it is not possible for staff to conduct site visits on all the applications we receive. The program officers will determine the most efficient method by which to gather additional information they may need for a review. Accordingly, Foundation staff will initiate contact with the applicants on an as needed basis. (TOP) *How do we check on the status of our request? You may visit our Web site to determine the status of your request. (TOP) |
